  • “Blushbottoms: The Belonging Bear” Launches A Heartfelt Story of Love, Hope, and Finding Home

“Blushbottoms: The Belonging Bear” Launches A Heartfelt Story of Love, Hope, and Finding Home

Oct. 28, 2025 / PRZen / FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Blushbottoms: The Belonging Bear has officially launched online, introducing a lovable white bear with a red heart on his right bottom cheek —a small symbol that carries a powerful message of love, hope, and belonging.

Created by Sean Goddard, MSN, APRN, NP-C, founder of Viking Psychiatry and a nationally recognized mental-health advocate, Blushbottoms is more than just a children’s book; it’s a story born from real-life resilience and emotional healing.

“When my adoptive parents met me, they gave me a stuffed bear,” said Goddard. “At times when love and belonging weren’t always spoken or shown, that bear became my best friend and family. Blushbottoms represents the comfort, acceptance, and safety I found in him, and now, I want to pass that feeling on to other children who need it.”

Through its gentle narration and endearing illustrations, Blushbottoms: The Belonging Bear helps children understand that family is not defined by blood or circumstance; it’s defined by love, connection, and the people (or bears) who remind us we matter. It sends a message that you are perfect just the way you are.

    A Mission Rooted in Compassion

Alongside the book’s launch, Goddard unveiled the “Belonging Box,” a special bundle including both the book and a plush Blushbottoms bear. A portion of the proceeds from each purchase is donated to children in foster care, adoption, and transitional living programs, along with books and bears.

The project’s first nonprofit partner is The Center for Whitley County Youth (The Center WCY), an organization providing mentorship, advocacy, and stability to local children. Through this partnership, Blushbottoms will deliver its message of love and belonging to youth who need it most. Goddard is connecting with more nonprofits to ensure as many children in need as possible receive a belonging box.

“Each bear we donate carries a message that you are loved and you belong,” said Goddard. “The heart on Blushbottoms’ right bottom cheek reminds kids that love doesn’t disappear, even when life feels uncertain.”

  • Crowdfunding Campaign Tips Off for ‘NAWFSIDE’ Short Film Highlighting Pressure in Youth Sports

Crowdfunding Campaign Tips Off for ‘NAWFSIDE’ Short Film Highlighting Pressure in Youth Sports

A 5-star Atlanta basketball phenom caught between the game, the grind, and finding his true purpose beyond the court – presented by Eye Candy Studios and The ARADA Company.

Oct. 26, 2025 / PRZen / ATLANTA — As NIL deals continue to reshape student athletics and challenge the fairness of competition, Eye Candy Studios has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Seed&Spark to produce “NAWFSIDE,” a short drama examining the intersection of youth sports, identity, and ambition.

The film follows a rising Black basketball star growing up in suburban Atlanta who must choose between chasing athletic fame and following a deeper personal calling.

“NAWFSIDE” is directed by Jordan Dilwood a.k.a. Coda of Eye Candy Studios, who is known as a co-producer of the 12-episode show Cycles and the short film A Hopeless Father. Producing “NAWFSIDE” is The ARADA Company, headed by Ivan Carrasquillo Diaz, who worked on set of Avatar: The Way of Water.

The Eye Candy-ARADA duo aims to raise $30,000 to compensate the cast and crew and to secure key filming locations near Atlanta. Any funds raised beyond this goal will support film festival submissions and a contribution to the Gwinnett County education department.

“NAWFSIDE” enters production at a critical time in youth sports, as young athletes and their families wrestle with the effects of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) policies that have turned high-school sports into a marketplace of brands, influence, and public pressure. Originally designed to allow college athletes to benefit from their image rights, these policies have increasingly influenced high school competition, bringing new challenges around fairness, access, and identity.

The film approaches these themes through the story of Jaymin Barber, a high school student torn between basketball and music. Caught between personal ambition and the expectations of those around him, Jaymin faces a choice between external success and inner purpose.

For Gwinnett County native Dilwood, “NAWFSIDE” is a deeply personal project.

‘NAWFSIDE’ is my love letter to where I grew up,” Dilwood said. “It’s the mixtape of every hoop dream, heartbreak, and creative spark I’ve ever seen in my community.”

Damian Delano Young, who portrayed a young Michael Jordan in Ben Affleck’s Air, stars as Jaymin alongside Frantz Calixte, Justin Edwards, and Alessandro Folchitto. Xzaviah J. Stone Sr. serves as lead screenwriter, with Miffy Hornsby as production designer and art director. Tony DiCaro-Smith joins as unit production manager and video editor.

The crowdfunding campaign will run from October 27 to November 27. Rehearsals are scheduled to take place concurrently with the campaign. Afterward, the team will finalize casting, secure filming locations, and conduct final rehearsals in preparation for production.

Principal photography is planned for March 4–11, followed by post-production. The completed film is expected to be released in fall 2026, with festival submissions and screenings to follow.

The process reduces turnaround time from weeks to days, while meeting clinical standards for documentation required by DSPS.

“Early identification and treatment of ADHD and related mental-health conditions is crucial for improved academic and personal outcomes,” said Mentavi Health Chief Medical Officer Barry K. Herman, M.D., MMM. “Timely diagnosis enables students to access the accommodations and support they need to succeed.”

Mentavi’s Diagnostic Evaluation, the first online ADHD assessment for adults to be clinically validated against current standards of care, has already served more than a dozen higher-education institutions nationwide and completed over 20,000 college-student evaluations. The validation study was published September 8, 2025, in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry (J Clin Psychiatry 2025;86(3):25m15846; doi:10.4088/JCP.25m15846).

“For many of our students, the greatest challenge isn’t the classroom itself but the invisible barriers that delay the accommodations they are entitled to under federal law,” said Jana M. Garnett, DSPS Coordinator and Director at SBCC. “Mentavi makes professional clinical diagnoses both accessible and affordable, providing a pathway to the support our students need to thrive.”

    Efficient and Affordable Support

Students complete Mentavi’s evaluation online and can share their report with SBCC’s DSPS office to determine accommodations or with a Mentavi clinician for follow-up therapy, medical treatment, or coaching. Each evaluation is reviewed by a licensed clinician-not by automated AI-and is available for $189, a fraction of the cost of typical in-person assessments.

Mentavi’s model helps colleges and universities expand student mental-health support without overburdening campus clinics or budgets, while giving students rapid access to evidence-based care.

Enhancing Student Outcomes and Institutional Reputation

Early, accurate diagnosis equips students to adopt strategies that improve academic performance and personal well-being. By facilitating timely access to care, as indicated by diagnosis, SBCC underscores its commitment to student success and equity.

“With national discussions underway about ADHD treatments and with growing state-level scrutiny of AI in healthcare, Mentavi stands out by combining validated evaluations with a human-centered model,” said Keith Brophy, CEO of Mentavi Health. “Every evaluation is reviewed by a licensed clinician, ensuring accuracy and accountability while reducing stress on families, faculty, and staff.”
