    RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA, January 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Saudi falconers have confirmed that the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025 is witnessing a significant rise in preparedness and competitiveness, contributing to the emergence of new champions across several categories.

    The festival, organized by the Saudi Falcons Club at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, runs until Saturday and has drawn wide local and international participation.

    Falconer Amin Al-Mallah, who won five trophies in the Local Elite competitions, said this year’s lure competition is notably diverse. His wins included Pure Gyr (juvenile and mature) with Al-Malikah and Al-Qahirah, Pure Gyr (mature) with Antar, Gyr-Peregrine (mature) with Al-Taawun, and Gyr-Hybrid (mature) with Messi.

    “The competition is strong, there is clear development in performance levels, and there is no monopoly,” Al-Mallah said.

    He praised the efforts of the Saudi Falcons Club in preserving falconry heritage, noting that competition is expected to intensify further during the “Shalfa Al-King” rounds, which he described as a strong addition to this year’s lure competition. He added that the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival continues to show steady development.

    Falconer Khaled Mesli Al-Qahtani said the competitive landscape has changed for the better, with professionals advancing to elite levels, owners moving into professional ranks, and amateurs progressing to professionals.

    “This undoubtedly produces new champions across all categories,” he said, adding that innovation and development were clearly evident this year across all rounds. “New names emerged and proved themselves, and overall there is noticeable progress among falconers in Saudi Arabia.”

    Highlighting what stood out most to him, Al-Qahtani pointed to the creativity and technological advancements in the lure competition, as well as the intensity of the contests. He noted that several falcons that failed to qualify in elite preliminary rounds returned to compete in international professional rounds and secured top positions, calling it a notable achievement for Saudi falconers.

    Falconer Saud Al-Marri also praised the festival, confirming the strength of competition and highlighting the ongoing development of the event. He said the new field represents a valuable addition to the lure competition.

    The King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025 features 139 competitive rounds and offers 1,012 prizes with a total value exceeding SR38 million ($10.1 million).
